Group C posts in the Chennai Customs Zone

Chennai Customs is currently recruiting for various Group C posts in the Chennai Customs Zone. They have announced vacancies for the positions of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade), Clerk, Canteen Attendant, and Halwai cum Cook. The total number of vacancies available are 17. Age Limit:

• Driver: Candidates must be between 18 to 27 years old.
• Halwai cum Cook / Clerk / Canteen Attendant: Candidates must be between 18 to 25 years old.

Pay Scales:

• Driver: Pay Level 2, with a salary range of ₹19,900 to ₹63,200.
• Halwai cum Cook: Pay Band 1, with a salary range of ₹5,200 to ₹20,200 and a Grade Pay of ₹2,000.
• Clerk: Pay Band 1, with a salary range of ₹5,200 to ₹20,200 and a Grade Pay of ₹1,900.
• Canteen Attendant: Pay Band 1, with a salary range of ₹5,200 to ₹20,200 and a Grade Pay of ₹1,800.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Driver:

• Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed the 10th class / Matriculation. They should also possess a valid Driving License for Motor Cars and have knowledge of Motor Mechanism. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in driving a Motor Car.

1. Halwai cum Cook:

• Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed the 10th class / Matriculation and should hold a certificate or Diploma in Catering. They should also have a minimum of 2 years of experience.

1. Clerk:

• Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed the Matriculation with 12th class or equivalent with Commerce. They should also have a typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer.

1. Canteen Attendant:

• Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed the Matriculation or an equivalent examination.

Selection Process:
The selection process for the Chennai Customs Recruitment 2023 includes a Written Examination and a Skill Test.
